![]() FDIP Graduation: tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, 2024, 5:00 to 7:00 pm.Spring 2024 internship: Januto May 12, 2024.Typically, an evening in-person FDIP Mentor-Intern mixer (from 5:00 to 7:00 pm) would occur towards the end of the fall semester of training. ![]() Interns will attend an orientation in summer 2023 with up to 48 hours of training over 8 weeks in the fall 2023 semester. CalendarįDIP is a one-year commitment, spanning the fall and spring semesters. Interns must complete the fall training prior to starting the spring internship.įall training topics include an overview of the California Community College system and its students and faculty, preparing for a class, assessing student learning, effective and inclusive classroom strategies, equity and implicit bias, and culturally relevant/responsive pedagogy.ĭuring the spring semester, interns complete a 16-week (or equivalent) hands-on internship in the classroom with a faculty mentor. Program Structureįaculty interns complete up to 48 hours of training over eight weeks during the fall semester. It is our interest to provide members of racially minoritized groups with models of their own race, ethnic, and cultural background with whom they can identify and recognize as examples of occupational achievement. The program aims to recruit qualified instructors who mirror the racial and ethnic diversity of the Los Rios Community College District service area. ![]() Since it first began in 1989, the Faculty Diversity Internship Program (FDIP) has provided learning opportunities for diverse faculty interns and students alike.
